Since
1999, three European educational projects aiming to encourage
the communication, the mutual discovery and the interaction between
young people by the way of the exchange of sound documents and
the recording of radio broadcasts have been carried out with
16 schools from 12 different countries.
These
Comenius projects, coordinated by a french school, la
Cité Scolaire
Paul Scarron from Sillé le Guillaume, and its local
radio Fréquence
Sillé were successively :
1/
the
"WAVE / RadioNet project", from 1999 to 2002
: a project based on the recording of sound clips and reports
by the students from the different schools, on society subjects
like tobacco and health, school and the educational system, the
dreams of young people before the entry in the year 2000, etc...
Nine schools from Irland, Luxemburg, Germany, Italy, Poland,
Latvia and France were involved in this project.
2/
the "Sounds, Voices and Words from Europe project",
from 2002 to 2005 : a project based on the recording and
the exchange of productions and sounds exploring several topics
such as "Sound
Postcards", typical
songs from the different countries, literature,
poetry, theatre, roman and virtual shows. Three "European
classes" were also organized during this project, in Germany,
Spain and France, allowing students from the different schools to
meet each other and produce together multimedia presentations and
sound reports. A series of
radio shows involving the students were also broadcasted "live"
on the airwaves of Fréquence Sillé and its internet
audio broadcast. Eleven schools from Romania, Spain, Irland,
Germany, Poland, Luxemburg, Denmark, Latvia and France took
part in this project.
3/
the "New Years Agency project" : this project,
currently in progress (started in september 2005, until 2008),
based on the idea that young people from different countries, working
together, can offer a dynamic and enriching crossed-view of society
subjects and on news, is organized on the basis of 3 main objectives
:
- lead the pupils to get informations and documentation on
subjects relating to the news from their country and from the European
Union, and to record sound reports ans interviews intended
to be broadcasted on the radio,
- organize
"multiplex" radio broadcasts involving the students,
and sometimes the teachers, by the mean of telephone and Internet
connections, these shows beeing broadcasted on the airwaves
of Fréquence
Sillé and on its Internet
audio webcast,
- organize,
each year, a meeting intended to allow young people to work directly
together on society subjects, to learn "radio animation techniques"
and to record radio shows. The first "European class"
of this new project will occure during spring 2006 in Ankara,
Turkey, and will be dedicated to the entry of Turkey in the European
Union.
Nine
schools from Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany,
Romania, Turkey, Spain and France are taking part in this
Comenius project. These schools will be joined, on some aspects
of the project, by several "free partners" from
other countries, such as Latvia and
Denmark.
